Silica occurs abundantly in nature in the form of oxide (Silica - SiO₂) and forms the main constituent of earth. It is very hard and abrasive in nature.

The various grades of Silica available are as under:

Silica Oxide Regular Fine -250 (Silica Oxide RF)

Silica Oxide Micro Fine -400 (Silica Oxide MF)

Silica Ultra Fine-500 (Silica Oxide UF)

Silica Ultrasil -10microns (Silica Oxide Ultrasil)


Typical Applications

Surface coating (Paints) Industry: Silica Extender due to the particle shape, the large particle size and low oil absorption are very helpful in manufacture of wood filler, it is most suitable to fill the pores in open grain woods. Silica extenders are most inert to acids and alkalies, which makes it useful in coatings to give toughness and abrasion resistance. Due to excellent wearing resistance, it is used in Traffic Paint for Making Roadway. It is also widely used in knifing putties.

Glass Factory: It is the basic raw material used in manufacture of glass.

Refractory Industry: For manufacture of silica bricks.

Ferro Alloys: For the manufacture of high Sillico-Ferro- Manganese and Silico- Manganese-Ferro-Silicon.

Electrode: As coating material for welding electrode acts as flux.
